Kyle D. Hughbanks has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Durant-based Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc. (REI). He joined Central National Bank of Alva in 1999 and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer prior to his appointment as President & CEO.
Hughbanks has extensive experience in chattel, inventory and real estate appraisal and as Chief Lending Officer, he had oversight of a portfolio of more than $100 million, as well as personally servicing a portfolio of more than $20 million.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics with a minor in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1990. He is also a 1995 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado.
Among his community activities and honors, Hughbanks was a Top 10 University Senior OSU Alumni Association 1990; Top 10 Senior College of Agriculture 1990; Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership Program 1999; and served as Agriculture Committee Chairman Oklahoma Bankers Association. He has served as the Finance Chair of the United Methodist Church and is a member of the Wichita Scottish Rite & Midian Shrine.
Kyle and his wife Trina, a Doctor of Optometry, reside in the Alva area with their children, Ridge, age 10, Sabrina, age 9 and Savannah, age 7.
“Kyle brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization,” said REI President and CEO Tom Seth Smith. “His training and expertise will serve to enhance our economic development efforts and since we now have an office in Alva, he will work closely with our field representative there.
REI promotes business and community development statewide with a focus on rural communities. Programs include financial assistance, business incubators, a lease/purchase equipment program, an international trade program, homebuyer’s assistance program, Womens Business Center and Native American Business Enterprise Center. REI has offices in Durant, Alva, Lawton, Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
