Jeremy Layman, REI housing specialist received certification as a Housing Development Finance Professional (HDFP) from the National Development Council (NDC).
Certification is a designation given to individuals who successfully complete an intensive housing development finance training series conducted by NDC. Layman received training in single-family, multi-family financing and housing development which included problem solving and deal structuring and the creation and implementation of development programs.
The courses ranged from three to five days and concluded with a written review which must be passed before the student is allowed to continue in the HDFP program. When the student has completed the three-week series, a comprehensive examination is given.
Layman has been serving REI as housing specialist for nearly three years. He is responsible for marketing the organizations homebuyers down payment and closing cost assistance programs and the Employer-Assisted Housing Incentive. Currently, over 2,000 Oklahoma families have become proud homeowners by utilizing REI programs and 40 businesses have implemented the Employer-Assisted Housing Incentive as an employee retention tool. Under the EAH program, 200 working families have become homeowners.
Jeremy has made great strides in a relatively short period of time, said Dena Sherrill, housing manager. He makes a lot of presentations, works with mortgage lenders and businesses to help hard working Oklahoma families purchase the home of their dreams. Jeremys certification as a Housing Development Finance Professional just adds to his already fine credentials and experience.
