Lori A. Broyles has been named as the Womens Business Center (WBC) Coordinator in Oklahoma City. She will assist REIs team of economic development professionals in coordinating activities with the WBC at REIs corporate headquarters in Durant.
Lori and Dr. Barbara Rackley, our WBC Coordinator here in Durant will be joining efforts to assist women-entrepreneurs across the state, said Sherry Harlin, business development director. Together, they will expand WBC services to provide training, one-on-one counseling and networking opportunities to Oklahomas enterprising women.
Broyles, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, is a relationship marketer with over 15 years of experience assisting Oklahoma businesses. She is also a certified business and industry coordinator and licensed trainer with excellent people skills and has developed over 25 professional development curricula.
Training workshops of the WBC are targeted to both the beginner and advanced business owner. Workshops cover topics such as developing a business and marketing plan, record keeping, fundamentals of financial statements, human resource issues, business taxes and other related subjects. Additional services include counseling and access to REIs full line of economic development services.
According to the SBA Office of Advocacy 2002 report for Oklahoma small businesses, women-owned firms represented 25.7 percent of the states total businesses and generated $9.3 billion in revenue.
