The Goddard School has broken ground to launch this early childhood development franchise in Jenks, OK.  The economic development partnership of Union Bank, Tulsa, and Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc. (REI) was instrumental in getting construction underway.   The SBA 504 lending program was utilized for real estate, construction, machinery and equipment. Founded over 20 years ago, the New Product and Process Fair has been inspiring the creativity of young and old alike. This year’s Fair in Oklahoma City was no exception with a total of $9,900 awarded to winners in the various divisions. Fair Grand Prize Winners were Teri Ward, Sand Springs; Jamie McCracken,Mannford, small business division and Veronica Senkowski, secondary division, Oklahoma City. Tom Seth Smith, President & CEO, Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc. (REI) was recognized for 20 years of success and service at the December Board of Directors meeting. When Smith took the helm of the organization in 1989, it was known as Rural Enterprises Incorporated. Seven years later when REI services became statewide, the name was changed to reflect the expanded service area. (REI) and First United Bank & Trust, Durant, what was once Jiffy Mart is now the new and expanded Push ‘Em Station on Highway 70 which is double the size of the old Jiffy Mart that Donny Simmons operated since 1984. The store is situated roughly 5 miles from Durant and 5 miles from Lake Texhoma.
