May 18, 2009 – Dr. Cynthia Ross Joins REI Board of Directors

Dr. Cynthia S. (Cindy) Ross, President, Cameron University, Lawton, OK has joined the Board of Directors of Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc. (REI).

As President of Cameron University, Dr. Ross is responsible for the executive administration, management and operations of the University and bears the primary responsibility for setting priorities and making decisions about the allocation of resources.

Dr. Ross received her bachelor, masters, and doctoral degrees from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.

To enhance community economic development, under Dr. Ross’ leadership the Center for Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies was developed and constructed. This economic development initiative includes a business incubator for new start-up technology companies and currently seven such companies are located in the facility.

“We appreciate the willingness of Dr. Ross to serve on the REI board of directors,” said Tom Seth Smith, President & CEO. “Her experience, expertise and commitment to economic development will be a great asset to us and will help us expand the services of our Lawton office so we can serve more people.”

REI’s Lawton office is located on the campus of Cameron University in the Center for Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies. Gilmer J. Capps is REI’s field representative serving Lawton and surrounding communities.
